Lawrence Community Centre

The new community center is located in Rorketon MB, about 400 km northwest of Winnipeg and close to the City of Dauphin. The 8400 square feet community center including the hall, the gym, the multipurpose room, the fitness room and a commercial kitchen serving both the community center and the hockey Arena attached. The mechanical design includes:

  • Three electrical air handling units serving the entire building. One unit serves one zone, which has different conditions compared to other zones, to maximize comfort level.
  • Demand ventilation control. CO2 sensors are installed to modulate the outdoor air intake flow to match the occupancy load of the space.
  • ERV units for heat recovery in order to maximize energy efficiency.
  • Electrical in-floor heating of 15 feet wide along the perimeter of the building. The in-floor heating loop temperature is reset with outdoor temperature.
  • Decent washroom layout and plumbing fixture selection to suit for universal access.
  • Kitchen fat/oil/ grease interception system.
  • A make-up air system that provide ventilation for the kitchen.
