Project

Duck Bay Community Hall, Manitoba

The project is located in Duck Bay First Nations Reserve Land, approximately 400km north west of Winnipeg. The previous community centre was destroyed by a tragic fire and the project is to rebuild a brand new community hall on site to suit for the increase in population of the community.

The community centre is used to accommodate up to 250 people for community gatherings and events with a kitchen, public washroom and other support areas. The community hall has a 5,000 sq ft footprint with a crawlspace.

Mechanical design includes:

  • Demand ventilation controls for the hall area

  • A central ventilation system provides heating, cooling and ventilation for the hall area. A remote CO2 sensor to sense space occupancy load and to control outdoor air intake to comply with Manitoba Building Code

  • Linear bar, heavy duty floor grilles are provided throughout the entire space to suit for heavy occupancy loads and a variety of community events.

  • HRV units are provided in crawl space to provide basic ventilation and humidity level control

  • Commercial grade plumbing fixtures are provided for public washrooms, janitor rooms and kitchen
